Applications of the CASiMiR Model
Morphodynamic and Habitat Modeling
Morphodynamic processes such as erosion, sedimentation, or colmation can negatively influence the reproductive cycle of fish, especially gravel spawning species. With the help of additional parameters used to characterize the river bed structure, and by coupling the habitat model with a morphodynamic model, the impact of management scenarios on the suitability of reproduction areas for gravel spawning species downstream of an impoundment can be investigated.
